Douglas as a father.
Douglas wanted to be present in Conrad’s life, and over the years the two went on many adventures — to the Black Hills of South Dakota, to the Grand Canyon, and many other places. Doug didn’t always say it out loud, but he was a very proud father. See the full photo gallery of the life of Douglas William Zbikowski.
Douglas as an advocate.
One of Douglas’ proudest achievements was his work with the Geological Society of Minnesota and the State of Minnesota to establish geological interpretive plaques across the state, including at Mille Lacs. Conrad helped out and the two of them traveled across the Midwest to conduct site surveys, deliver bronze plaques to job sites, and more.
